On Monday, Arkansas became the latest state to sue Roblox over child safety concerns. The lawsuit claims that the popular gaming platform is “a breeding ground for sexual predators,” failing to keep its young users safe.

Communications platform Discord was also named in the lawsuit over similar concerns.

“These companies didn’t stumble into a child safety problem. They engineered one,” Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said in a statement. “Roblox built a platform with no age verification, no meaningful parental consent, and an algorithm that routed children directly toward the spaces where predators were waiting.”

The lawsuit outlines what the Attorney General’s office calls a “two-stage predatory pipeline” between Roblox and Discord.

The state argues that predators pose as children and make contact with minors through Roblox before gaining their trust and moving communications to Discord, where they can solicit explicit images or sextortion.

Arkansas is not the first state to take legal action over these concerns. More and more states have gotten involved in recent months, with Oklahoma filing a similar lawsuit in May.

Connecticut similarly announced an investigation into Roblox several weeks ago. Other states that have sued Roblox include Florida, Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana.

Online platforms have a responsibility to protect children. If your child was harmed after connecting with an adult on Roblox, Discord, Snapchat or Fortnite, you may be able to take legal action.

More Than 100 Roblox Lawsuits Grouped Together in Federal Court

In addition to cases brought by states, dozens of families have also filed individual lawsuits against Roblox, claiming that the platform failed to keep its young users safe or implement proper safety measures.

In December 2025, a multidistrict litigation (MDL) was established for Roblox lawsuits. This is a legal procedure used when similar cases are filed across courts. It places all of those lawsuits before the same federal judge so they can go through a streamlined legal process together.

At the start of June, more than 160 Roblox lawsuits had been filed in the MDL.
